RESOURCES FOR YOU!
As our current staycation order evolves, I will continue to update this page!
Stay well & be well
when will i be able to get my hair done?
(5/1) - Our state has been ordered to remain closed through May 28th, and we will be updating our procedures after that time.
We are hoping to be open when this order is lifted, but as we have all seen - it’s entirely possible that extended restrictions could delay our opening.
Please know that it is also entirely possible that continued orders to socially distance may affect us upon reopening!
Given the nature of our business, it’s just not possible to do hair and follow potential orders to distance ourselves. Right now, it seems like we are seeing daily changes within our state, so it is truly hard to knowingly say what will happen. We will absolutely be updating you as things evolve!
I know that I'm going to need my extensions done soon! what should I do?
If you know you will need to have new extensions done between April and July and haven’t scheduled your appointment, I highly encourage you to schedule now! You can do so by following the link at the button below.
Salon re-opening is unpredictable, however, availability for services will be limited due to increased demand, alongside the longer service timing required for extension appointments.
At this time, I am still able to thankfully place orders for hair! This means that I am able to schedule you appropriately and we’ll have your hair and everything ready to go once we are able to be back in the salon.
For your past visits, I have always kept detailed records for my guests - so if you wish to replicate your previous application, the service pricing for your next visit will likely be about the same investment.
Right now, we are unable to see each other in person, unfortunately - so I have created a form that will help me to ensure that we prepare appropriately for your next visit!
If you are a current guest and would like to set up your next hair extension appointment, follow the link below to get started.
As always, if you aren’t sure about your hair needs, you can always email me directly and I’m happy to help you.
Should I schedule my next extension appointment now, or should I wait?
Right now, we are of course unsure as to how our re-opening procedures will unfold, however I am still scheduling appointments for the mean time!
I do anticipate that there will be a higher demand than usual for placing hair orders in the coming months upon return to the salon.
It’s entirely possible for inventory to be limited due to this increased demand, along with delays in other areas such as ordering, shipping, and scheduling availability, so I want to make sure that we are well-prepared in advance for any and all of your upcoming extension visits.
Thankfully, I am still able to place orders for hair, so I am encouraging everyone to schedule and submit their service retainer so we’re ready to go when the time comes!
My ultimate goal is to do everything I can to ensure that we don’t have to wait unnecessarily to place orders for hair and schedule appointments, regardless of the state’s procedures for reopening.
Click below to submit your pre-order form, and we’ll get you scheduled from there!
I am new to extensions, how can I schedule my first appointment?
Your best bet to schedule your first visit is to head over to my new guest extension page! Over there you’ll see how you can schedule your first visit, and fill out my pre-consultation form as well. If you have any additional questions, you’re welcome to reach out to me at any time via email!
HOW should I TAKE CARE OF MY EXTENSIONS RIGHT NOW?
The absolute best thing you can do with your extensions is maintain them!
This is hard on all of us right now and the best thing we can do is brush our hair, and be sure to be extra gentle with your hair - especially if you’ve had your extensions in for 4 months or more.
Be sure to separate your attachments!
Brushing, brushing, and separating the strands that get matted row by row, is all essential.
Brushing is KEY, especially right now. Brushing and separating your attachments will be essential in keeping your natural hair in its most optimal condition.
Please follow the below instructions to maintain your application:
Brush each row individually.
Do this by clipping up all of the other hair away from the rows, then brush downward from scalp to ends a minimum of 3 to 4 times per row.
Be sure the brush starts at the scalp and goes over the bonds.
If strands have started attaching to each other, separate the strands as follows:
a. Brush the row thoroughly.
b. Take your fingers and gently push the attached hairs that are at the bond sight towards the scalp. This will loosen the individual hairs. Think of it as separating your fine jewelry, you push and separate it gently.
c. When all of the loose hairs are separated GENTLY, separate the individual GL strands that are attached to each other.
d. Brush each row again after separating the strands.
All of the above must be done daily, BRUSH 3-4 TIMES PER DAY. Separate the strands once per day.
Shampooing and drying:
a. Brush each row before you shampoo. If you brushed the night before and put your hair in a loose ponytail or very loose braid, shampooing the next morning without additional brushing is fine.
b. Use GENTLE motions, no vigorous scrubbing at the scalp.
c. Wrap your hair in a towel. Please so do not scrub the scalp or rub the hair vigorously. Just gently squeeze the hair.
d. If you have Great Lengths Anti-Tap, spray it on the bonds then spray your leave-in conditioner on the length of the hair. Detangle your hair as you normally do.
e. When detangling the ends, hold your hair mid-shaft and work through tangles one section at time. This will prevent unnecessary stress or pulling at attachment site.
f. Dry the bonds completely.
g. When blow drying, sectioning hair by rows and clipping hair up and out of the way will make it easier. When you are sleeping, working out, or are outside in the wind, putting your hair in a loose ponytail or loose braid is a must. When braiding your hair, create 2 loose braids. If you put it in a loose ponytail, keep it a low one.
what should I do about my hair color?
The absolute best thing you can do with your color right now is honestly, wait.
I know it’s hard - but waiting until you can have your hair done professionally will eliminate the chances of future corrective color appointments, or even potential damage.
Something that has helped me keep sane through all of this is honestly - taking more time for self care, in other ways than using hair color.
I’ve been taking extra time to actually apply a masque to my hair bi-weekly, and I am avoiding heat styling right now.
If you’ve got hair products hanging around in your bathroom that you want to play with, why not?! I’ve honestly been ‘distracting’ myself with extra self-care, and it’s ended up serving as a healthy diversion.
However… I do have some options for hair color that can help! See the Q below about color/gray camouflage below to see more info.
is there anything i can use to color or camouflage my grays?
If you feel like you can’t wait.. I totally get it. Especially while we have all of this time to overthink everything - it’s so easy to focus on needing our hair done! We all know how important our hair is to our everyday.
Aside from wearing cute hats and headbands to help camouflage your gray, there are a few things that will help in the mean time.
I am currently offering a solution through DPHUE that you can order directly through me!
DPHUE is a deposit-only, professional solution that will last up to six weeks when you can get back into the salon to see me. We have root coverage kits, color depositing glosses, and root sprays that you can use in the mean time.
This means…
No unexpected orange roots.
No destroyed highlights.
No box-dye nightmares.
No pricy color corrections on the flip-side.
Just maintained roots from home while you're stuck at home. So if you're ready to look fresh, feel your best, and not risk a hair catastrophe, click the link below to start your digital formulation consultation.
Who would benefit from the root touch up kit?
This is perfect for brunettes and dark blondes that need gray coverage. This is a low-ammonia solution with salon-quality coverage that is meant to bridge the gap until your next salon visit.
However, this product is NOT designed to lift your natural hair color - so if your hair color is lighter than your roots, this option is not the best solution for you. The options are intentionally limited, and are formulated specifically to ensure you won’t do any damage to your hair, and will prevent you from needing a future color correction.
It’s super easy to order!
I formulate, order for you, and the product is shipped directly to your house within 5-7 days. Click the link below to start your order!
I have highlights and my hair isn't gray, is there something I can do?
The best thing for my highlighted / rooty guests is to embrace the root. If you are a blonde that is feeling brassy, you can use purple shampoos to neutralize any yellow tones you’re seeing. You may also benefit from a semi-permanent color depositing gloss for your hair! This can help you “stretch” your color until we are back in the salon
However, since there is so much room for error when lightening roots, there is no solution for your best bet will be to camouflage your roots with a tinted root spray.
My hair color is dull, is there something I can use to add shine to my hair?
Dphue does offer a range of glosses that can be used to “refresh” your color! These are semi-permanent and will fade from the hair as you wash your hair. This company offers a wide range of colors to suit most hair types, however - my favorite is the “Sheer” gloss, which is designed to add shine and softness to the hair!
should i use a root spray or other Temporary hair color Solution?
My favorite solutions are going to be temporary color products, like root sprays or root coverage powders.

one last note…
Overall, I completely support your choices during this time! There is no real “correct” solution for any of us right now, and I honestly think that doing whatever you need to do to help you feel good about yourself is going to be the best bet.
Your health and well-being, as well as the health and well-being of your loved ones, is always most important to me!
In the middle of all of this uncertainty - it’s the little things that count for us, right? I can’t wait to see you back at the salon soon.
Let’s hope this passes as quickly as possible, and I hope all of you stay safe in the mean time!
